You hire the person. Everything around them is handled.
This is recruitment, not seat-leasing. Your team member works in your business, inside your systems - not in a provider's facility with a margin on their salary.
- 01
The brief
The role, the tools, the hours, the person who'll manage the work day to day. We give you the realistic salary band and all-in monthly number on the spot.
- 02
The search
We recruit in the Philippines the way we recruit for our own teams: real screening, skills assessment against Australian standards, and interviews you join for the final shortlist.
- 03
The start
System access, security setup, tools, introductions and a proper onboarding plan - so week one is productive, not chaotic.
- 04
The support
The monthly layer: check-ins, HR support, performance conversations and problem-solving when anything arises. Role-specific training is quoted as needed - LINK becomes an extension of your business.
Outsourcing to the Philippines, without the BPO markup.
"Outsourcing", "offshoring", "BPO", "EOR" - the industry uses the words interchangeably and hopes you won't ask. They're different models with very different price tags. Here's the honest map.
Outsourcing a task vs offshoring a role
Outsourcing hands a task to an external provider (a firm does your payroll). Offshoring hires a person overseas who works in your business, on your systems - a dedicated team member, not a service ticket. This page is about the second: dedicated offshore staff, working your hours, on your team.
BPO / seat-lease providers
The big Philippines outsourcing companies employ your worker themselves, seat them in a facility, and charge a bundled monthly rate with their margin - and the rent - hidden inside it, which is why their pricing pages have no prices. Cancel the contract, lose the person.
Employer of record (EOR)
An EOR legally employs your remote staff in-country and re-bills you salary plus a per-seat fee - useful for big corporates with rigid compliance needs, heavy for an Australian SME hiring one to five people.
The LINK model: recruit, then support
We recruit your team member for a flat $1,500, help you engage them correctly, and stay on as the management and support layer for $450 a month. Their salary is theirs - no markup, no seat fee, no facility you're paying for. You own the relationship; we keep it working.
Two numbers. Published. That's the pricing.
Go looking for offshore staffing prices and you'll find "save up to 70%" and a contact form. The providers charge a hidden margin on every salary, every month - so the numbers stay hidden. Ours don't, because there's no margin to hide.
To recruit the role
$1,500+ GST
one-off recruitment fee, per role
- Search, screening and skills assessment
- Shortlist interviews you join
- Offer, engagement setup and onboarding plan
- Three-month free replacement guarantee
Then, each month
$450+ GST
per month, per team member - ongoing management & support
- Ongoing management and HR support
- Regular check-ins and performance support
- Remote setup and security guidance
- Problem-solving when anything arises
- Two months' notice to end it - published, not buried
Plus the team member's salary, paid at the market rate for the role - yours, with no margin clipped from it. We'll give you the realistic salary band for your role in the first conversation, in writing.
The exit terms, up front
Most providers make you find these in the contract. Ours are two lines. Don't need the role any more? Two months' notice and the engagement ends - enough time to give your team member the notice a real person deserves. Want to keep them and take the arrangement in-house? Twelve months' management fee ($5,400 + GST) and they're yours - we recruited and built the relationship, and then we hand it over cleanly instead of holding your team member hostage the way a seat-lease contract does.
And when the role needs more
Role-specific training, and extra support beyond the standard layer, is quoted as needed and agreed up front - so you only ever pay for what the role actually requires. The point of the model: your team member isn't out there alone, and neither are you - when training or a problem comes up, you're getting LINK as an extension of your business, not a provider hiding behind a bundled rate.
Your offshore team in the Philippines joins a model LINK already runs on itself.
LINK's own group - nine teams in Fortitude Valley - includes Philippines-based professionals recruited exactly this way. Your offshore team member gets the same recruiter, the same onboarding and the same support ours do.

Something else?
If the role runs on defined processes and digital tools, it's probably recruitable offshore. Ask - and if it isn't a fit, we'll say so and show you the local option.
Bands are the team member's gross monthly pay, checked against published market guides (Aug 2026); Philippine statutory benefits add roughly 10-15% and are itemised in your quote. Local figures are the salary plus super and on-costs on published SEEK bands. Your exact all-in number comes in writing, before you commit.
Your team member works from home, anywhere in the Philippines.
The big providers put your staff in their facility, in Manila, and bill you for the seat. We set every team member up properly at home - which means you can hire the best person in the country, not the best person willing to commute to a particular building.
No commute, no traffic
Manila traffic can take three hours out of someone's day. Remove it and you get those hours back as energy, focus and goodwill - not as a line on an invoice.
Hire from the whole country
Cebu, Davao, the provinces - the talent pool stops being 'who lives near the office' and becomes everyone. Better candidates, and often better value.
It's what they actually want
Given the choice, professionals here overwhelmingly choose working from home. It's the single biggest retention lever in offshore hiring, and it costs you nothing.
Set up properly, not improvised
Geofenced access, secured devices, backup internet and a real home-office standard - configured before day one, not sorted out after something goes wrong.
Remote, but under your control
Working from home shouldn't mean working outside your controls. We help you make the right security decisions for the role - geofencing so access only works from an approved location, device and login policy, least-privilege access inside your own systems, and the practical stuff like backup connectivity. Your data stays in your systems, on your permissions; nothing gets copied into ours.
That advice is part of the placement. We've made these decisions for LINK's own Philippine team members, so you get the setup we trust with our own clients' data.
What this replaces
A seat in someone else's office, in a city your team member may have moved away from, at a monthly rate that quietly includes the rent, the desk, the facility manager and the provider's margin on all three.
If a role genuinely needs an office-based setup, that's available too - we'll just tell you honestly when it isn't needed.
The Philippine employment details, itemised.
"Everything's handled" is what every provider says. Here's what handled actually contains - the parts of employing someone in the Philippines that are different from Australia, all set up correctly as part of your placement.
13th month pay
A legally required extra month of salary, paid in December. It's in every band we quote, so it never surprises you.
Statutory benefits
SSS (social security), PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG contributions - the Philippine equivalents of super and Medicare - add roughly 10-15% to gross salary and are itemised in your quote.
Health insurance (HMO)
Private health cover is a standard part of a good offshore package and one of the strongest retention levers. We'll recommend the right level for the role.
Leave & public holidays
Philippine service incentive leave plus agreed annual leave, and a public-holiday calendar that mostly differs from Queensland's - we map it against your business calendar up front.
Equipment & workspace
Home-based by default, set up properly: who provides the laptop, second monitor and backup internet is agreed before day one, with geofenced access configured to match. Office-based setups are available where a role genuinely needs one.
Pay runs & currency
Salaries are paid in Philippine pesos on local pay cycles. We set up the payment arrangement with you so it's a five-minute monthly task, not a foreign-exchange project.
Local hire or offshore team member?
We run both models, so this comparison has no thumb on the scale. The honest answer is usually a mix: local where presence and licensed advice matter, offshore where process and volume do.
| Local hire | Offshore team member | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Client-facing roles, licensed advice, on-site work, senior leadership | Process-driven roles: accounting support, bookkeeping, admin, IT, marketing production |
| All-in cost | Salary + super + payroll tax + entitlements + workspace | Salary (typically a fraction of the AU equivalent) + $450/mo management - no super, payroll tax or workspace |
| Time to start | Notice periods commonly push starts out 4-8 weeks | Often faster - strong candidates with shorter notice periods |
| Working hours | Your office hours | Your office hours - Manila is only 2-3 hours behind Brisbane |
| Management | Yours entirely | Yours day to day, with our management, HR and support layer alongside - training quoted as needed |
| Our fee | Flat search fee, quoted up front | $1,500 recruitment + $450/mo - published above |
Want the comparison for a specific role, with real numbers on both sides? That's the first conversation - and you'll get it whether you proceed or not.
And the part nobody selling offshore staff tells you: what doesn't work.
Roles that live on presence
Client-facing meetings, site visits, front-of-house - if the value is being in the room, keep it local. We'll tell you in the first conversation, because we also run a local desk.
Licensed Australian advice
Regulated advice and sign-off stays onshore - offshore accountants prepare, your registered agent reviews and lodges. Roles built around the licence itself don't offshore.
Undefined jobs
"Just figure it out" roles fail offshore in exactly the way they fail locally, but with distance added. If the processes don't exist yet, start with one well-defined role and grow from there.
Every reason you might hesitate, taken seriously.
How do we keep our data secure if they work from home?+
The same way you'd secure any remote employee, and we help you set it up before day one: geofenced access so logins only work from an approved location, device and login policy, least-privilege access, your password manager and MFA, and work happening inside your own Xero/CRM/practice tools rather than copies of your data leaving them. You keep control because nothing ever moves into our systems - and we've made these exact decisions for LINK's own Philippine team.
Who actually employs the team member?+
They work for you, day to day, inside your business - we recruit them, then handle the ongoing management layer: payroll arrangements, HR support, check-ins, and problem-solving when anything arises. You direct the work; we make the arrangement run smoothly. In the first conversation we'll walk through exactly how the engagement is structured and how it compares to employer-of-record and seat-lease models.
What about quality - is the work really Australian standard?+
The Philippines has deep professional-services talent: degree-qualified accountants (many CPA), experienced bookkeepers, developers and administrators with years of experience working for Australian businesses. The difference between a great offshore hire and a poor one is recruitment and support - which is exactly the part we own. We screen to the same bar we hire against ourselves, and when a role needs training on Australian tools and standards, LINK delivers it - quoted per role, agreed up front.
How do we manage someone nine timezones... actually, two hours away?+
Manila is only two to three hours behind Brisbane - your offshore team member works your business day. Daily stand-ups, camera-on meetings and shared task boards make the distance mostly disappear, and our monthly management layer exists precisely so the people-side - engagement, development, issues - never lands on you alone.
What if it doesn't work out?+
Sometimes a hire doesn't fit - offshore is no different from local in that. If your team member leaves within three months, we rerun the search and replace the role free. If you no longer need the role at all, it's two months' notice and the engagement ends - long enough to give your team member the notice a real person deserves. And if you want to keep them but take the arrangement in-house, it's twelve months' management fee ($5,400 + GST) and they're yours outright. All published above, not buried in a contract.
Run by the two people who built LINK's own offshore team.
This isn't a service line handed to an account manager. It's led personally by LINK's co-founder and its head of talent - the two people who recruited and still run LINK's own Philippines-based team.

Ayu Helen Shabhatiwi
Talent Manager, LINK
Close to a decade recruiting across professional services, technology and government - including scaling a contractor workforce from 15 to more than 130 on multi-year federal programs, and building a government recruitment division from a cold desk to roughly $800K in annual billings. Since 2023 she has led talent across the LINK group, where she recruited and manages LINK's own Philippines-based team members.
Ayu runs the engagement end to end: the search, the screening, the onboarding, and the monthly support that keeps the arrangement working.

James Webb
Co-Founder & Director, LINK
James co-founded LINK in 2012 and built its Philippines team the hard way - as the business owner doing the hiring. He has recruited his own offshore team members, made the mistakes this page saves you from, and turned what worked into the service LINK now delivers for its clients.
On your engagement he brings the owner's perspective: which roles genuinely work offshore, how the numbers stack against a local hire, and what it takes to make an offshore team member a real part of the business.
Your questions, straight answers.
How much does offshore staff in the Philippines cost?+
Our fees are on this page: $1,500 + GST to recruit the role, then $450 + GST a month for ongoing management and support. On top of that you pay the team member's salary - for professional-services roles in the Philippines, typically a fraction of the equivalent Australian salary. Where a role needs specific training, or support beyond the standard layer, it's quoted as needed and agreed up front - never buried in a margin. In the first conversation we'll give you the realistic all-in monthly number for your specific role, in writing.
Why do other providers not publish their pricing?+
Most offshore staffing providers charge a hidden margin on top of every salary, every month, forever - so publishing numbers would invite the comparison. Our model is different: a flat recruitment fee and a flat monthly management fee, both published here. The salary is the salary; we don't clip it.
How is this different from an outsourcing company or BPO?+
A BPO leases you a seat in their facility and employs the person themselves - you pay a bundled monthly rate and the person is ultimately their staff member. We recruit a person for you: they work in your business, inside your systems and culture, and our role is finding them and then keeping the arrangement running well. It's the difference between renting capability and building your team.
What roles work best offshore?+
Roles built on defined processes and digital tools: accounting and bookkeeping, admin and executive assistance, customer service, IT and development, design and marketing production. Roles that live on local presence - client-facing meetings, site visits, licensed local advice - stay local, and we'll tell you honestly which is which. Many businesses run a hybrid: a local senior with offshore support.
Does LINK actually use offshore staff itself?+
Yes - LINK's own teams include Philippines-based professionals, and the recruitment approach on this page is the one we used to build them. James, LINK's co-founder, recruited his own offshore team members as the business owner doing the hiring, and Ayu, who leads the service, built and manages LINK's offshore team today. We're not reselling a model we read about; we run it.
Is it legal to outsource work to the Philippines?+
Yes. Australian businesses of every size have engaged Philippines-based staff for decades - it's a mainstream, lawful way to build a team. What matters is doing it properly: structuring the engagement correctly, honouring Philippine employment entitlements, and remembering your Australian Privacy Act obligations follow your data wherever it's processed. All of that is set up as part of the placement - and because your team member works inside your systems, your existing security controls keep applying.
Do I pay superannuation or PAYG for Philippines-based staff?+
No. Super guarantee and PAYG withholding attach to Australian employees; a properly structured Philippines-based engagement sits outside both. The flipside is that Philippine entitlements apply instead - 13th month pay, SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG - and we make sure they're honoured in full. That's part of paying fairly, and it's all itemised in your quote. (General guidance, not tax advice - and as part of an accounting group, we can actually walk you through your specific position.)
Can offshore accountants prepare BAS or Australian tax returns?+
The preparation work, yes - lodgement and sign-off stay with your registered agent onshore. Tax Practitioners Board supervision requirements mean your offshore accountant works under your registered agent's review, preparing workpapers, reconciliations and draft returns that are checked and lodged in Australia. That's exactly how LINK's own Philippine team works with its Brisbane accountants - including complete offshore teams for accounting firms.
How much does a virtual assistant in the Philippines cost?+
For a quality full-time VA working Australian hours: typically $1,200-$2,000 a month in salary (see the bands above), plus our $450 monthly management fee - roughly $10-$15 an hour all-in. You'll see marketplaces advertising $4-$8 an hour; at that level you're hiring unmanaged freelancers and doing the screening, management and replacement yourself. The bands we publish are what reliable, experienced people actually cost.
Is outsourcing to the Philippines ethical - and what's a fair salary?+
Done properly, offshore roles are among the better-paid professional jobs in the Philippines: the bands we publish sit well above local market averages, and they come with full statutory benefits, 13th month pay and health cover. Because we take no margin on salary, every dollar you pay for the role goes to the person doing it. The unethical version of this industry is the race to the bottom on hourly rates - that's precisely what we don't do, and our published pricing makes it checkable.
What about tax, super and employment law for offshore team members?+
Engaging an offshore team member is structurally different from employing an Australian: Australian super and award rules don't apply to a Philippines-based worker, and the engagement is typically structured as a contractor or through a local arrangement, which we help set up correctly. As part of an accounting group, we make sure the whole arrangement is clean from a tax and compliance standpoint - something staffing companies typically can't advise on.
What if my offshore team member resigns?+
Philippine notice periods are typically 30 days, which gives us a running start: we begin the replacement search immediately, manage the handover, and if it's within the first three months the replacement search is free under the guarantee. Turnover offshore is like turnover anywhere - rarer when people are paid fairly, managed well and given real careers, which is what the whole model here is built around.
The group behind the model, in clients' words.
Professional, responsive and clear in their communication, with a well-structured approach to tax planning and business accounting advice. Their advice gives me confidence that matters are being dealt with accurately and efficiently.
The skill and professionalism shown by LINK is unmatched. Not only are they amazing at what they do, they are also super approachable throughout their process. The Google ads team tripled our leads overnight and we couldn't be happier.

We've been using LINK for our accounting and bookkeeping for a few months and are very happy with the service they provide. They are great to work with!
Within 48 hours of our family home being advertised, Brad had secured several inspections. His passion and professionalism were evident from the first meeting.
They spent the time to understand my circumstances and gave me relevant advice. I could tell they didn't see me as a number they could add to their books.
Link helped us recreate our brand, amazing working with the team highly recommended. Epic experience and loved the end result.
Great people to work with. They are informative and kept me up to date throughout the whole process. They made marketing and SEO sound easy, and I am very happy with the results.
Their seeming lack of interest at our old agency had us wondering what we were paying for. Then we met Brad from LINK Living and have never looked back. Proactive, sorting out any problem before it becomes an issue.
