Recruitment by an employer, not an agency.
Every candidate is interviewed by someone currently doing that job - not a former practitioner, not a recruiter with a keyword list. That's the whole model.
Interviewed by the profession
A recruiter can check a CV against keywords. Our screening goes further because the people running it do the work: accountants test accounting, marketers read portfolios, and the market-rate conversation is grounded in what we actually pay.
An employer's market read
We hire for nine teams of our own, every year. You get an honest read on salary bands, availability and how long a role really takes to fill - before you commit to anything.
Both models, one conversation
Local placement and offshore teams, side by side. Agencies that only sell one model recommend that model; we'll tell you which fits the role, with the numbers for each.
The LINK guarantee
Rates from 15%, published on this page and confirmed in writing before the search begins. And if your hire leaves within six months, we rerun the search free - stated in writing, with no fine print underneath it.
This is the team that interviews your candidates.
Accountants, bookkeepers, marketers, brokers, property managers - LINK's own people, in Fortitude Valley. When we say candidates are screened by the profession, this is the profession.

First candidates within 10 business days.
- 01
The brief
The role, the team it joins, the numbers around it - and whether local, offshore or either fits best. You get our market read and the fee for your role on the spot.
- 02
The search
Our network, targeted advertising and direct approaches - plus the candidates already known to nine teams of working professionals.
- 03
The screen
Accountants test the Xero file. Marketers read the portfolio. Brokers check the deal sheet. Then a shortlist with an honest note on each person - including any doubts.
- 04
The hire
You interview the shortlist; we manage offers, counter-offers and start dates, and stay close through onboarding. Six-month replacement guarantee on every placement.
Rates from 15% of salary. There, that wasn't hard.
Australian recruitment agencies charge a percentage of the first-year salary - typically 15-25%, with the industry average around 17-18%. Ours start at 15% and move with the role and the salary bracket, topping out around 20%: at or below what the market charges. That is the whole of it.
What's unusual isn't the number, it's that you just read it. Go looking for any other Brisbane agency's rate and you'll find a contact form - you learn the price after the relationship starts. You'll have your exact figure in writing in the first conversation, before you commit to anything, and it doesn't move afterwards.
Hiring offshore instead? Every number is published there too - a flat $1,500 placement and $450 a month, no percentage at all.
What you get for it
- A six-month guarantee. Double the 3-month rebate most agencies attach to the same percentage - in plain words, with no page of exclusions underneath.
- Screening by practitioners. The people assessing your candidates do the job you're hiring for. That's what the percentage actually buys here.
- A number that holds. Agreed in writing before the search, not revised at offer time.
The Brisbane hiring market, read by an employer.
Hiring across nine teams gives LINK a live read on the Brisbane job market that agencies read about second-hand. What we see right now: good accountants and bookkeepers are scarce and fielding counter-offers, notice periods routinely stretch start dates, marketing and creative talent is deeper but quality is spread wide, and IT has become a national, remote-first market where Brisbane employers compete with Sydney salaries. Salary expectations have moved - and pretending otherwise costs you the candidate.
That read - the real salary band, the honest time-to-fill, what your competitors for talent are offering - is exactly what you get in writing in the first conversation, updated from searches we're running this month, not last year's salary guide.
Where we recruit
Based in Fortitude Valley, recruiting across greater Brisbane - the CBD, Newstead, South Brisbane, Milton, Chermside, Springwood and out to Ipswich, Logan, Redlands and Moreton Bay - plus the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and remote and hybrid roles Australia-wide.

Ayu Helen Shabhatiwi
Talent Manager, LINK · Professional Services & Technology Recruitment
Ayu has spent close to a decade in recruitment across professional services, technology and government - agency-side and in-house. At u&u Recruitment Partners she built the Queensland Government division from a cold desk to four new government clients and roughly $800K in annual billings, ranking top 10 across the firm, with an 89% fill rate over 48 placements. Before that she helped win and deliver multi-year federal workforce programs - Defence and Infrastructure included - scaling a contractor workforce from 15 to more than 130.
Since 2023 she has led talent across the LINK group: recruiting for every division, advising the Directors on workforce strategy, and building the performance and retention frameworks LINK itself runs on. Every search on this page is run by the person who does this for LINK's own teams.

Your questions, straight answers.
What does a recruitment agency in Brisbane cost?+
Ours start from 15% of the first-year salary and move with the role and salary bracket, topping out around 20% - so a $90,000 hire runs roughly $13,500-$18,000. That sits at or below the Australian market, which typically charges 15-25% and averages 17-18%. The difference isn't the number, it's that we publish it: you'll have your exact figure in writing in the first conversation, before you commit, alongside a six-month replacement guarantee that's in the engagement letter rather than the fine print.
What roles do you recruit?+
The disciplines LINK works in every day: accounting, bookkeeping and payroll, marketing and creative, finance and lending, property, wealth, IT, and the admin, sales and operations roles every growing business needs. IT recruitment is led by Ayu, whose background is professional services and IT placements. If a role sits outside those lanes, we'll say so and point you to a specialist we trust.
Why use an accounting group to recruit instead of a recruitment agency?+
Because we employ these roles ourselves. LINK hires accountants, bookkeepers, marketers, finance and property people for its own teams - so candidates are interviewed by people who do the job, not by a recruiter working from a keyword list. We know what a good Xero file looks like, what a real portfolio looks like, and what the market actually pays, because we're in that market as an employer every year.
Do you recruit outside Brisbane?+
Yes. We're based in Fortitude Valley and strongest in South East Queensland, and professional-services and IT roles are increasingly remote or hybrid - we run searches Australia-wide. For roles that can be done from anywhere, we'll also show you the offshore option and the cost difference, honestly.
What's your process - and how long does a search take?+
A briefing call to understand the role, the team and the numbers - you get our market read and the fee for your role in that first conversation. Then a search across our network, advertising and direct approaches; screening interviews done by people from the discipline; and your first candidates within 10 business days of a signed brief. You interview, we manage offers and references, and we stay in touch through onboarding.
What if the hire doesn't work out?+
Every placement carries a six-month replacement guarantee: if the person leaves within six months, we rerun the search at no extra fee. It's stated in your engagement letter in plain words, with no page of exclusions underneath it.
Can you help me decide between hiring locally and offshore?+
That's often the most valuable part of the first conversation. Some roles need to be local; many don't. We run both models - local placement and offshore teams in the Philippines - so you get one honest comparison of capability, cost and management overhead, not a pitch for whichever model the agency happens to sell.
How much do recruitment agencies charge in Australia?+
The standard model is a percentage of the first-year salary - typically 15-25%, with industry averages sitting around 17-18%. On a $100,000 role that's $17,000-$18,000 at the average. LINK's rates start from 15% and move with the role and salary bracket, sitting at or below that market range, and we publish them rather than making you ask. Our six-month replacement guarantee is also roughly double the 3-month norm most agencies attach to the same fee.
How do recruitment agencies work?+
Most run a contingency model: you brief several agencies, they race to send CVs, and whoever's candidate you hire gets the fee - which rewards speed over screening. Some senior searches run retained (paid stages, one agency). LINK's fee model is conventional - from 15% of first-year salary - but the engagement isn't: one recruiter who runs your search personally, screening done by people who do the job you're hiring for because we employ these roles ourselves, and the rate published before you ask.
Is it worth using a recruitment agency, or should I just advertise on SEEK?+
Honest answer: sometimes DIY is right. If the role is common, your ad writes itself and you have time to screen properly, advertising yourself can work. An agency earns its fee when the role is scarce, when you can't afford a mis-hire, when the best candidates aren't applying to ads, or when screening well takes expertise you don't have in-house. Our free market read will tell you which situation you're in - including when the answer is 'run it yourself'.
Do you do temporary or contract recruitment?+
Our core work is permanent recruitment across professional services and IT. For contract or temporary cover, talk to us anyway: for many process-driven roles, an offshore team member is a better answer than a temp - faster to start, dramatically cheaper, and with a path to permanence. Where a traditional temp agency genuinely serves you better, we'll say so.
The group behind the searches, in clients' words.
Professional, responsive and clear in their communication, with a well-structured approach to tax planning and business accounting advice. Their advice gives me confidence that matters are being dealt with accurately and efficiently.
The skill and professionalism shown by LINK is unmatched. Not only are they amazing at what they do, they are also super approachable throughout their process. The Google ads team tripled our leads overnight and we couldn't be happier.
Rented my vacant property in less than a week after my last agent couldn't find a tenant in over 3 weeks. The team at LINK Living go above and beyond for all of their clients.
They take time to analyse the business, explain financial decisions in plain language, and implement the correct procedures. Their proactive guidance has given me confidence I haven't had in 30 years of running a business.
Alex, Josh & the team at Link have been fantastic with setting up my business advertising through Google. Their advice & expertise has been amazing and continuous support has helped me achieve my goals.
We've been using LINK for our accounting and bookkeeping for a few months and are very happy with the service they provide. They are great to work with!
Within 48 hours of our family home being advertised, Brad had secured several inspections. His passion and professionalism were evident from the first meeting.
They spent the time to understand my circumstances and gave me relevant advice. I could tell they didn't see me as a number they could add to their books.
Link helped us recreate our brand, amazing working with the team highly recommended. Epic experience and loved the end result.
Great people to work with. They are informative and kept me up to date throughout the whole process. They made marketing and SEO sound easy, and I am very happy with the results.
Their seeming lack of interest at our old agency had us wondering what we were paying for. Then we met Brad from LINK Living and have never looked back. Proactive, sorting out any problem before it becomes an issue.

Looking for your next role, not your next hire?
We place candidates across accounting, bookkeeping, marketing, finance, property, IT and admin roles in Brisbane - and LINK itself is always looking for great people. Send your CV once; it works for both.
Does this role need to be local?
Some roles do. Many don't - and for those, an offshore team member in the Philippines can deliver the same work at a fraction of the cost, recruited and backed by the same team. You get one honest comparison, not two competing pitches.
